Mr. Martin Trust, founder Brandot International [USA], visits Brandix India Apparel City

Visakhapatnam, India. January 23rd 2008 : Mr. Martin Trust, founder of Brandot International Ltd., a leading investment firm that specializes in creating joint venture partnerships with apparel and textile companies, and a key shareholder of BIAC, visited Brandix India Apparel City in the Special Economic Zone in Visakhapatnam.

Martin Trust began his stellar career in the apparel and textile industry in 1958. In 1970, he was a founder of MAST Industries Inc., which he sold to Limited Brands in 1978. He retained his position as President and CEO of MAST until his retirement in 2001. During his tenure, MAST grew from a small sweater supplier to an international contract apparel manufacturer with annual sales of $ 1.5 billion. An entrepreneur with over 50 years of apparel and textile industry experience, Martin Trust was also a member of the Board of Directors of Limited Brands until 2003.

Brandot was founded in 2001 by Martin Trust and the company was created through the amalgamation of four existing manufacturing companies previously owned by The Limited Inc. [now known as Limited Brands]. Brandot’s primary focus is in the apparel and textile industry, an area in which the company has deep domain knowledge. Brandot invests primarily in South Asia and the Far East. The company partners with top-performing organizations with a visionary approach to business and are committed to growth and excellence. Currently Brandot’s partners encompass over one million square feet of factory space and employ more than 10,000 people throughout the world.

During his visit to BIAC, Mr Martin Trust said;

Mr. Martin Trust, also visited the Brandix Apparel India, the Indian manufacturing arm of Brandix, (temporarily set up 35Kms away from BIAC site) to observe the production first hand.



Ocean India breaks ground to set up one of the largest textile manufacturing facilities in the region at Brandix India Apparel City

World-class textile plant commences construction

VISAKHAPATNAM, India. October 25th, 2007: Ocean India laid the foundation stone for the construction of its state-of-the-art knit fabric manufacturing unit at Brandix India Apparel City [BIAC] in Visakhapatnam.

Mrs. HA Chung Fong, Wife of Chairman – Fountain Set Ltd, along with other distinguished guests graced the colorful ceremony. The event marks yet another historical milestone in the progress of Brandix India Apparel City, as this becomes the second unit to commence construction. Already construction is in full swing for Brandix Apparel India, the state-of-the-art apparel-manufacturing unit. Also, global players in the industry such as Pioneer Elastics, Compagnie Mauricienne de Textile [CMT], Brandix Finishing and Logiwiz India are due to commence construction shortly.

Ocean India is a joint venture partnership between Fountain Set [Holdings] Limited [Hong Kong], one of the world’s largest knit fabric manufacturers, Brandix Lanka and Hirdramani Group. Fountain Set [Holdings] are recognized in the industry as a global player supplying to over 40 countries to internationally renowned brands and has long been a driving force in the global market through its vertically integrated operations.

This new venture with its world-class manufacturing unit will not only serve the needs of apparel manufacturing units in BIAC, but will also cater to India. The 75-acre facility, situated within the 1000-acre Brandix Apparel City in the Special Economic Zone [SEZ] in Visakhapatnam, is projected to be one of the largest textile-manufacturing units in the region. The unit is expected to be ready for commercial production by the second quarter of 2008.
