Brandix India Apparel City (Pvt) Ltd awarded ‘Women Employment Award’ and ‘Best Export Award’ by Government of India at Export Excellence Awards 2021
Brandix India Apparel City (Pvt) Ltd won the prestigious ‘Women Employment Award’ (Manufacturing Sector) and the ‘Best Export Award’ for Brandix Apparel India Pvt Ltd Units 1 & 2 and Teejay India Pvt Ltd at the Annual Export Excellence Awards for Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) for the financial years 2019/2020 and 2020/2021. The awards are in recognition for Brandix’s valuable contribution towards women's employment and empowerment, and for promoting exports from India and establishing Andhra Pradesh as a great investment destination for the textile industry. The event was organized by the Export Promotion Council of India for EOUs and SEZs under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
Shri B.V.R Subrahmanyam, Commerce Secretary - Government of India presented the ‘Women Employment Award’ to Vasudha Tummala - Head of Wellness and to Suchira Surendranath – Director, Strategy & Investment of BIAC for Brandix India Apparel City (Pvt) Ltd Units 1 & 2. Upul Nallaperum - Senior General Manager accepted the award on behalf of Teejay India (Pvt) Ltd.
Over the years, the Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs (EPCES) and Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSES) have endeavoured to facilitate consultations between different stakeholders including industry, policymakers, banks, financial institutions, and multilateral agencies to drive greater competitiveness in the Indian EOUs & SEZ sector. The Annual Export Excellence Awards were organized to recognize the efforts of various units that have worked tirelessly to establish India on the world business map.
